The RS 660 Factory targets riders who want a more focused version of the 660 concept without stepping into V4 territory. The 659 cc twin delivers strong midrange performance and revs freely at higher speeds. The Öhlins suspension adds stability under braking, improved traction on corner exits, and an overall more refined feel at higher speeds.

Direct competitors include Ducati Supersport 950, Triumph Daytona 660, and Yamaha R7. The Ducati is larger and more touring-focused, the Triumph more mature, and the Yamaha more basic in performance.

Within the Aprilia lineup, the Factory version sits above the standard RS 660 due to its Öhlins package.
