2026 Can-Am Origin

With the Origin, Can-Am returns to the motorcycle segment after 40 years — electric, as a dual-sport enduro. The Rotax electric motor delivers 48 hp and 72 Nm from a standstill, while the KYB full suspension offers 255 mm of travel front and rear. The 8.9 kWh battery charges from 20 to 80 percent in 50 minutes on a Level 2 station. Standard features include a 10.25-inch TFT with Apple CarPlay, six riding modes, and active regenerative braking via reverse throttle input.

The battery is not removable. The 865 mm seat height excludes smaller riders. The rated range of 115 km drops significantly at highway speeds. The Can-Am dealer network in Germany is still developing. Target riders are A2 license holders looking for a distinctive electric bike with off-road potential.

In comparison: The KTM Freeride E rides like a true enduro but suffers from limited range, just like the Origin — a structural issue of the segment. The Sur-Ron Storm Bee offers similar performance at a lower price but feels more like an MTB and has a smaller service network. The Zero DSR/X positions itself as an adventure bike with a larger battery but costs significantly more.
