Review CFMoto 700 MT (2026)
The Adventure Tourer for Comfort Fans—Heated Seat, Heated Grips, CarPlay, and a 20-Liter Tank for Under €7,500
68 hp, 240 kg, 19-inch front wheel, three-stage heated grips and seat, CarPlay, TPMS—all standard. The 700 MT is no benchmark for riding dynamics, but it is a convincingly well-equipped touring motorcycle at a price where other manufacturers are still talking about base models.
As of: April 15, 2026 | Model: CFMoto 700 MT (2026, MY2025/2026 technically identical) | Price: €6,999 including additional charges | Manufactured by: CFMoto, China | Warranty: 4 years
New for 2025: 19-Inch Front Wheel Instead of 17 Inches—the 700 MT Is Now a Genuine Adventure Tourer
Through 2024, the CFMoto 700 MT was a sport-tourer with 17-inch wheels and a concept similar to the Versys 650. Starting in 2025, it received a 19-inch front wheel—and with it, the motorcycle completed its transformation into a full-fledged adventure tourer. The 19-inch front wheel makes the steering more relaxed and less direct than a 17-inch setup, but improves comfort over rough surfaces and increases capability on light gravel.
If you are looking for precise turn-in on mountain roads, the 450 MT or 800 MT-X is the better choice. If you want to cover long distances in comfort, this is the one. The technical platform is older, and that is reflected in some aspects of the handling.
For most of the target audience, however, the value-for-money argument makes that largely irrelevant. If you are looking for a comfortable, fully equipped touring motorcycle for less than €7,000, there are very few alternatives.
Engine: 693 cc 180-Degree Parallel Twin, 68 hp, Mild-Mannered and Reliable—Not Much Character, but Well Suited to the Job
The 693 cc parallel twin with a 180-degree crankshaft produces 68 hp and 60 Nm.
DOHC, Euro 5+, anti-hopping clutch, 6-speed transmission. The engine is neither exceptionally smooth nor particularly characterful. It simply does its job reliably and without any major weaknesses. At low rpm, throttle response can be abrupt. In slow hairpins, slipping the clutch helps.
At normal touring speeds on backroads, the engine works unobtrusively. Real-world test consumption is around 6 liters per 100 km. CFMoto claims 4.8 liters per 100 km.
Chassis & Brakes: KYB, 150 mm of Travel, Comfort-Oriented—with Noticeable Limits During Sporty Riding
The KYB suspension provides 150 mm of travel at the front and 148 mm at the rear.
The fork has 43 mm stanchions. The setup is clearly focused on comfort. Road imperfections are absorbed confidently, and cobblestones are barely noticeable. On rough roads ridden at a faster pace and when pushing the bike sportily, however, the limits become apparent.
Braking comes from J.Juan dual 300 mm front discs and a single 240 mm rear disc.
The brakes feel somewhat dull. ABS comes standard, and rear-wheel ABS can be switched off.
Equipment: The Real Reason to Buy It—What the 700 MT Includes at This Price Is Unique in Its Class
Three-stage heated grips and three-stage heated seat come standard.
That is exceptional in this price class. Also included are TPMS tire-pressure monitoring with tire-temperature display, a one-hand-adjustable windscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto through the 5-inch TFT display, Bluetooth connectivity, navigation mount, USB-C and USB-A ports, handguards, and T-Box. Traction control can be switched off.
The 20-liter fuel tank provides the range expected from a touring motorcycle.
Luggage mounts are integrated. An optional three-piece aluminum luggage set with 25/28/35-liter capacity costs around €990. For context, heated grips and a heated seat are optional accessories on many competitors. CarPlay is almost unheard of on motorcycles in this price range.
Even on more expensive motorcycles, TPMS with tire-temperature display is far from standard. If you want similar equipment from Yamaha, Honda, or Suzuki, you will pay considerably more.
Ergonomics: 800 mm Seat Height, Rider Positioned Far Back, Wide Seat—Comfortable, but Not Ideal for Everyone
The 800 mm seat height is accessible for an adventure tourer. The seat is wide and well padded. The rider sits far back on the motorcycle. The handlebar angles rearward, the fuel tank is long, and the front wheel feels far away. The result is an upright, relaxed riding position designed for touring. Taller riders may find the knee angle cramped.
The optional 840 mm seat helps. Wind protection is good. The combination of fairing and adjustable windscreen effectively shields both rider and passenger.
Positioning: Who the 700 MT Is Right For—and Who It Is Not
The 700 MT is a successful motorcycle for riders who primarily see a bike as a means of travel and weigh equipment against price. For riders who put riding enjoyment and dynamic performance first, it will reveal shortcomings despite the low price.
The Kawasaki Versys 650 costs €9,070 and produces 67 hp: more expensive, better handling, less standard equipment.
The Yamaha Tracer 700 costs €10,424 and produces 73 hp: more expensive, more agile, no CarPlay, no heated seat.
The Suzuki VSV 650 starts at €7,200 and produces 70 hp: more expensive, no heated seat, no CarPlay.
The CFMoto 700 MT costs around €2,000 to €3,000 less than most competitors and comes with more standard equipment.
Verdict
68 hp, 20-liter fuel tank, 19-inch front wheel, three-stage heated grips and seat, CarPlay, TPMS, tire-temperature display, one-hand-adjustable windscreen, luggage mounts—from €6,999.
In terms of riding dynamics, the 700 MT is not the benchmark in its class. In terms of standard equipment, it is.
