2026 Ducati Monster

The Ducati Monster enters its fifth generation in 2026 and remains the very definition of a sporty naked bike from Bologna. The new 890 cc V2 with variable valve timing (VVT) produces 111 hp, responds instantly to throttle input, and combines strong midrange drive with an eagerness to rev. Compared to its predecessor, overall weight has been reduced even further, while revised ergonomics and the latest electronics significantly improve everyday usability.

On twisty backroads, the Monster impresses with precise turn-in, excellent stability, and direct rider feedback. The comprehensive electronics package—including cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, engine brake control, and a quickshifter—perfectly underlines its sporting intentions.

Its strengths are the characterful V2 engine, low weight, and agile handling. Weaknesses remain the lack of wind protection and the sporty ergonomics during longer journeys. Its main competitors include the KTM 990 Duke, Triumph Street Triple 765 RS, Yamaha MT-09, and BMW F 900 R.
