2026 KTM 1290 Super Duke GT

The 1290 Super Duke GT remains one of the most uncompromising interpretations of a sport tourer: massive performance, tight control, and yet genuinely capable for long-distance riding. The 1,301 cc V-twin delivers a massive 141 Nm of torque from the midrange, responds cleanly thanks to precise throttle control, and turns overtakes into effortless bursts of acceleration.

On the road, the KTM impresses with strong stability under hard braking and very direct turn-in, while the semi-active WP suspension convincingly bridges the gap between comfort and firm control. It feels planted at speed, yet remains responsive when pushed.

Compared to the Suzuki GSX-S1000GT or Kawasaki Ninja 1100 SX, the KTM feels more aggressive and torque-focused but demands more discipline at the throttle. Against the BMW R 1300 RS, it offers more punch and sportiness but lacks the smoothness and low-maintenance advantages of shaft drive.

The Super Duke GT is aimed at experienced riders who ride at a fast pace but still plan serious long-distance touring.
