2026 KTM 390 Adventure X

Compared to the R, the new 390 Adventure X is the “everyday-first” version: less rally, more effortless touring. The single-cylinder responds directly to throttle input, delivers smooth midrange drive, and remains highly controllable thanks to ride-by-wire. With a 19-inch front wheel and 825 mm seat height, it feels significantly more accessible than the R, turns in neutrally, and remains stable even as pace increases on backroads.

Direct competitors include the BMW F 450 GS, Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, and Honda NX 500. The BMW is the most modern concept with advanced technology and A2 performance but will likely be more expensive. The Himalayan feels more rugged and adventure-focused but is heavier. The Honda is highly practical and stable on asphalt but less off-road-focused than the KTM.

Within the KTM lineup, the X clearly sits below the 390 Adventure R: less off-road hardware, more accessibility.
