2026 KTM 390 SMC R

The new 390 SMC R fills a clear gap in 2026: true supermoto agility in A2 format, without the brute force of the 690 class. The 399 cc single-cylinder delivers 45 hp, revs willingly, and perfectly matches the slim, movement-friendly layout. On the road, the KTM feels extremely agile, drops eagerly into tight corners, and remains stable under hard braking. The suspension offers noticeable reserves, although the seat height demands both leg length and commitment.

Compared to competitors such as Husqvarna’s 401-based road concepts or larger supermotos like the KTM 690 SMC R and Husqvarna 701, the 390 stands out with lower weight and price but offers less punch and range.

Compared to the 390 Duke, it shares a similar power range but features significantly more suspension travel, spoked 17-inch wheels, and true supermoto ergonomics, while the Duke is lower, more touring-oriented, and more accessible.
