2026 KTM 890 SMT

The 890 SMT positions itself as a road-focused sport tourer with clear supermoto DNA. The 889 cc parallel twin delivers 105 hp and 100 Nm, responds instantly, and is paired with a dynamic chassis offering 180 mm of suspension travel. On backroads, the SMT turns in extremely easily, remains stable under hard braking, and combines high cornering speeds with a surprisingly relaxed riding position that allows for longer distances.

Compared to the Yamaha Tracer 9 GT or BMW F 900 XR, the KTM places less emphasis on wind protection and high-speed touring stability, focusing instead on freedom of movement and maximum agility.

Compared to the 890 Duke, the SMT feels significantly more touring-oriented, with more suspension travel, a higher riding position, and improved comfort. Compared to the 990 Duke, it lacks peak performance but offers more practicality and everyday usability.
