2026 KTM 990 Duke Review

The new 990 Duke represents KTM’s precision tool for the road: a compact twin-cylinder engine with 123 hp paired with a lightweight, firm chassis. The result is extremely quick turn-in, strong feedback, and high stability under heavy braking. The engine delivers strong midrange torque and revs freely, matching the agile chassis that allows for rapid direction changes.

Compared to the Yamaha MT-09, Triumph Street Triple, and Kawasaki Z900, the KTM emphasizes low weight and an aggressive riding setup, while competitors often feel more balanced or refined.

Compared to the 990 Duke R, the base version is more usable in everyday riding and more affordable, while the R moves clearly toward track-focused performance.
