Review LiveWire S2 Del Mar (2026)
Flat-Track Electric Motorcycle on the Arrow Platform, 84 hp, 263 Nm, 19-Inch Wheels—Now EUR 12,290
LiveWire’s Arrow platform uses a structural 10.5 kWh battery. Output is 84 hp, with 263 Nm available from zero rpm. Ready-to-ride weight is 198 kg. The Del Mar rolls on 19-inch wheels front and rear with Dunlop DT-1 tires developed specifically for the model and inspired by flat-track racing. A fully adjustable Showa USD fork works with a Showa Free-Piston monoshock adjustable for preload and rebound, with 120 mm of travel at both ends. Brembo M4.32 Monobloc front caliper, Brembo PF34 rear caliper, C-ABS, C-TCS, and DSCS drag-torque slip control are standard. Six riding modes, reverse, OTA updates, and a 4-inch TFT complete the package. MY2026 price: EUR 12,290, down from EUR 19,990 at its 2023 launch.

Price Development: EUR 19,990 to EUR 12,290—the Flat-Track Electric Bike Enters the Middleweight Price Class
The S2 Del Mar was introduced in Europe in September 2023 at EUR 19,990, a price that placed it in the upper middleweight category and effectively ruled it out for many buyers. At the 2026 Mama Tried Motorcycle Show, LiveWire cut the price to EUR 12,290, matching the S2 Mulholland and undercutting the S2 Alpinista by EUR 990. That is a reduction of EUR 7,700, or 38 percent, in less than two and a half years. For the first time, the Del Mar is priced like a well-equipped middleweight combustion motorcycle—and it is now the least expensive model in the LiveWire family.
Within the current S2 range, the Del Mar and Mulholland both cost EUR 12,290, while the Alpinista is EUR 13,280. Compared with the LiveWire One at EUR 14,790, the Del Mar is EUR 2,500 less expensive. It shares the same S2 platform concept, battery capacity, and quoted torque with its S2 siblings, but produces less power than the One, 84 versus 102 hp, and does without DC fast charging.
Design and Character: Flat-Track Styling as a Mission—What 19-Inch Wheels and Dunlop DT-1 Tires Mean on the Road
The S2 Del Mar was the first and remains the most conceptually pure motorcycle on the Arrow platform. Its theme is flat-track racing. The low nose, exposed cooling fins around the faux tank, Storz-style tail, short seat, wide flat-track handlebar, and 19-inch spoke wheels reference Harley-Davidson’s dirt-track heritage. The Dunlop DT-1 tire was developed specifically for the Del Mar, with a road-adapted flat-track tread pattern.
Those large flat-track tires take some acclimatization on turn-in. Seventeen-inch sport-oriented rubber would give the Del Mar sharper road handling. The 19-inch setup looks distinctive but is not the optimum choice for aggressive street steering response. Buyers who understand that and use the Del Mar for urban riding, commuting, and relaxed backroad loops get a coherent package rather than a compromised sportbike.
Arrow Platform and Powertrain: 84 hp, 263 Nm, Structural Battery—Shared With Alpinista and Mulholland
Powertrain, battery technology, and rider-assistance systems are shared across all three S2 models. The electric motor produces 84 hp and delivers 263 Nm immediately from zero rpm. The 10.5 kWh battery, built from 21700 cylindrical cells, is a structural element linking the steering head and swingarm pivot without a conventional frame. Zero to 100 km/h takes just over three seconds. A low-maintenance toothed belt transfers power to the rear wheel. With 263 Nm, the S2 models quote more than twice the torque of the LiveWire One’s 114 Nm despite their lower peak power, creating a distinctly different acceleration character.
The Del Mar’s centrally positioned battery gives it a better-balanced feel than the One. It can be flicked into different kinds of corners with surprising ease. The Showa suspension is firmly calibrated and can initially feel slightly harsh, but its adjustment range allows the rider to improve the setup. Within the S2 family, the Del Mar is the sportiest model, with the most agile and direct character.
Electronics: DSCS, C-ABS, C-TCS—and Why Drag-Torque Control Matters Especially on an EV
The S2 Del Mar comes with a comprehensive assistance package. Cornering ABS (C-ABS) works with lean-angle data, while cornering-optimized traction control (C-TCS) limits rear-wheel slip when accelerating through a bend. Particularly relevant to an electric powertrain is DSCS, or Drag-Torque Slip Control. During regenerative braking, the motor recovers energy while simultaneously creating deceleration. If that drag torque becomes strong enough, the rear wheel can begin to lock, much like excessive engine braking on a combustion motorcycle. DSCS regulates that slip and prevents rear-wheel lock above 17 km/h, working together with ABS.
All S2 models provide six riding modes, four preconfigured and two individually adjustable. Reverse is available through reverse throttle input as part of the standard RFR software update. OTA capability allows LiveWire to add functions to motorcycles already in service. The 4-inch round TFT shows speed, charge level, and riding mode, while navigation, weather, and tire-pressure information can be accessed through the LiveWire Connect app over Bluetooth.
Charging and Range: Level 1/2 AC, No DC—181 km City, 137–138 km Combined
Like every S2 model, the Del Mar supports Level 1 charging from a household outlet, taking around 5.9 hours from 20 to 80 percent, and Level 2 charging at AC stations, where the same charge takes around 78 minutes. Maximum AC charging power is 7.6 kW. CCS2 DC fast charging is not available. LiveWire quotes 181 km of city range, slightly less than the Alpinista’s 193 km because of the different tire setup. Combined range at an average of 88 km/h is 137 to 138 km, while faster-road use reduces it to around 112 km. The first scheduled service is at 1,600 km, followed by 40,000 km intervals.
Recall Note: Certain Production Batches Affected by Possible Power Loss
LiveWire has recalled certain production batches of the S2 Del Mar and S2 Mulholland because of a possible sudden loss of power, potentially including complete motor shutdown. Prospective buyers and current owners should ask the responsible Harley-Davidson or LiveWire dealer whether the specific motorcycle is affected and whether the remedial work has already been completed. At the source’s editorial deadline, it had not been conclusively established whether MY2026 deliveries were affected.
Verdict
The S2 Del Mar is the strongest design statement in the S2 family: 19-inch flat-track wheels, exclusive Dunlop DT-1 tires, Storz-style tail, and a faux tank with cooling fins. At EUR 12,290, it is also the least expensive electric motorcycle in LiveWire’s range. Its powertrain and platform technology are shared with the Alpinista and Mulholland; the difference is the concept. The Del Mar is an urban rider and statement bike, not a tourer. Its 19-inch flat-track tire package is exactly the right tool for that mission—and the compromise everywhere else.
