Review MV Agusta F3 800 Competizione (2026)

160 hp, 178 kg, Carbon Wheels—300 Bikes From Varese

Competizione means competition, and the MV Agusta F3 Competizione takes the name literally: 300 hand-built examples from Varese. It makes 147 hp with the standard exhaust in Euro 5+ street-legal trim, or 160 hp with the included Akrapovič full titanium system for track use. Carbon-fiber wheels are standard. So is a lithium-ion battery. Öhlins NIX30 up front and TTX36 at the rear. Curb weight is 178 kg. Power-to-weight ratio: 0.9 hp/kg. Each bike comes with a certificate of authenticity. Price: EUR 32,800 plus EUR 495 ancillary charges.

As of: July 17, 2026 | Model: MV Agusta F3 800 Competizione (2025–2026; 798 cc three-cylinder; supersport; full A license; limited to 300 numbered units) | Manufacturer: MV Agusta Motor S.p.A., Varese/Schiranna, Italy | German price: EUR 32,800 plus EUR 495 ancillary charges | Stationary noise: not published | Warranty: 5 years

There are motorcycles you simply buy. And then there are motorcycles you are allocated because all 300 numbers are spoken for before the listing page finishes loading. The MV Agusta F3 Competizione belongs to the second category. It debuted at EICMA in November 2024. Three hundred numbered motorcycles, each assembled by hand in Varese. Every one comes with a certificate of authenticity and its individual number laser-engraved into the bike.

Speedweek described its distinctive traits precisely: with a 178 kg curb weight, the limited-production F3 Competizione approaches a one-horsepower-per-kilogram power-to-weight ratio, territory previously reserved for top-level superbikes. With the Akrapovič system, the figure is roughly 0.9 hp/kg. That puts it in the performance neighborhood of machines such as the Ducati Panigale V4 R and Aprilia RSV4 Factory—not where you expect to find an 800-class three-cylinder middleweight supersport. But the F3 Competizione is not a normal 800 triple.

147 / 160 hp: The Triple in Two Configurations

The engine is a liquid-cooled 798 cc DOHC inline-three with titanium valves—31.8 mm intake and 26.7 mm exhaust—and Euro 5+ compliance. With the standard exhaust, it produces 147 hp at 13,200 rpm and is fully street legal. Install the supplied Akrapovič full titanium exhaust for track use and output rises to 160 hp at 13,500 rpm. The Akrapovič system is 3 kg lighter than the standard exhaust. It is the familiar MV Agusta formula for limited models in this category: a road configuration and a track configuration delivered in one package.

A new nine-plate assist-and-slipper clutch is fitted, along with the EAS quickshifter, Launch Control, and cruise control. The electronics package is full-spec MV Agusta: MVICS 2.1, a 5.5-inch TFT, cornering ABS, traction control, and wheelie control.

Carbon Wheels: Why They Matter

The F3 Competizione comes standard with carbon-fiber wheels developed specifically for the model. They save 3 kg compared with the aluminum wheels on the F3 RR. The benefit is not simply lower overall mass. Carbon wheels reduce unsprung weight—the mass the suspension has to control before it can transmit useful feedback to the rider. Less unsprung mass means faster suspension response and more precise feedback. This is not just a weight improvement, it is a chassis upgrade.

A lithium-ion battery is also standard, saving another 3 kg compared with a conventional battery. Carbon wheels plus lithium-ion battery remove 6 kg versus the F3 RR. On a 178 kg motorcycle, six kilograms is a meaningful difference.

Öhlins NIX30 + TTX36: The Competizione Chassis

At the front is a 43 mm Öhlins NIX30 USD fork with TiN coating, fully adjustable for compression damping, rebound damping, and spring preload. The adjusters are mounted at the top of the fork for easy access, including under track conditions. At the rear is an Öhlins TTX36 shock, fully adjustable for preload, compression, and rebound damping. This is top-tier Öhlins hardware throughout, comparable in specification to the premium suspension used on MV Agusta’s flagship performance models.

What Comes in the Delivery Kit

The delivery package includes the Akrapovič full titanium exhaust, 3 kg lighter and good for 160 hp on track; a carbon exhaust cover; CNC-machined fuel caps; a fiberglass passenger-seat cover; and a certificate of authenticity for each of the 300 motorcycles. The certificate is the key document because it links the number on the motorcycle to its provenance, and that is what transforms this from a typical production run into a collectible series.

EUR 32,800 Plus EUR 495 Ancillary Charges

EUR 32,800 is more than the Brutale 1000 RR at roughly EUR 25,990 and less than the Ducati Panigale V4 R at around EUR 44,900. For that money, the F3 Competizione delivers a hand-built 798 cc triple, a 300-unit production run, carbon wheels, lithium-ion battery, full Öhlins suspension, an Akrapovič titanium system in the crate, a five-year warranty, and a certificate of authenticity. In that context, the package is not unreasonable.

Verdict

The MV Agusta F3 800 Competizione is one of the most exclusive supersport motorcycles in its class: 300 numbered units, 178 kg, 147/160 hp, carbon wheels, lithium-ion battery, Öhlins NIX30 and TTX36 suspension, and an Akrapovič system included. In track configuration, it delivers roughly 0.9 hp/kg. Speedweek’s assessment captures the allure: a power-to-weight ratio previously associated mainly with top-level superbikes. EUR 32,800 plus EUR 495 ancillary charges. Three hundred motorcycles. That is the proposition.
