The R1 GYTR is Yamaha’s track-focused flagship based on the R1 Race and is aimed at riders looking for a race-ready package straight from the factory. The 998 cc crossplane inline-four responds very directly to throttle input, revs freely, and delivers its power linearly, with a noticeable surge at higher rpm—ideal for carrying corner speed and accelerating cleanly out of turns.

In terms of riding dynamics, it impresses with a stable front end under hard braking, neutral turn-in, and strong composure at high speed. The GYTR components are designed for performance and consistency over multiple laps without overloading the bike with unnecessary “show” features.
