The 321 cc parallel twin loves to rev, remains easy to control, and rewards clean shifting technique. The chassis feels slim, tips willingly into corners, and remains stable at lean angles. The ABS braking system fits the concept perfectly: clear, predictable, and not overwhelming.

Direct competitors include the Kawasaki Ninja 500, KTM RC 390, and Honda CBR 500 R. The Kawasaki is stronger at low rpm but less sharp in sporty riding. The KTM is more aggressive and agile but also more nervous. The Honda feels more mature but also heavier.

Within Yamaha’s lineup, the R3 is the more accessible and lighter alternative to the R7.
