2026 Yamaha XSR 900

The XSR 900 remains Yamaha’s sportiest interpretation of the retro theme. The proven 890 cc CP3 with 119 hp delivers strong midrange torque, revs cleanly, and feels refined enough for everyday riding and touring. On backroads, the package impresses with light turn-in, stable braking behavior, and a very transparent riding feel that rewards quick direction changes rather than punishing them.

Compared to the Triumph Street Triple 765 RS and KTM 990 Duke, the Yamaha focuses less on maximum sharpness, but stands out with a wide usable powerband and well-balanced ergonomics. Compared to the Ducati Monster or Kawasaki Z900RS, it feels more modern, more dynamic, and more complete electronically, while still remaining attractively priced.

Compared to the €1,900 more expensive XSR 900 GP, the main differences are the more open, lighter layout with a lower seat height and larger fuel tank. The GP adds a fairing, a more aggressive riding position, and more weight, clearly targeting a retro racing experience.
