Review Honda NC750X (2026)

The Sensible Motorcycle—with Storage Capacity No Other Bike Offers

The NC750X has been one of Europe’s best-selling motorcycles since 2014—and for good reason. It combines low fuel consumption, approximately 400 km of range, and 23 liters of storage under the tank cover, enough for a full-face helmet, with an easygoing all-round character. MY2025 brought the biggest update in years: new styling, 5-inch TFT with RoadSync, dual front brake discs, lighter wheels, and improved DCT. MY2026 carries the proven package forward with new colors.

As of: April 14, 2026 | Tested model: Honda NC750X (2026) | Price: approx. €8,689 including destination charges, manual transmission; €9,709 with DCT

Engine: 745 cc Parallel Twin, 59 hp, 69 Nm—3.5 L/100 km Fuel Consumption, Approx. 400 km Range

745 cc, SOHC, liquid-cooled parallel twin, eight valves, 77 mm × 80 mm, 10.7:1 compression ratio, PGM-FI, Throttle-by-Wire. Output is 43.1 kW / 58.6 hp at 6,750 rpm, with 69 Nm at 4,750 rpm.

An A2 version with 35 kW / 48 hp is available and can later be returned to full power.

The NC engine is not designed for high-rpm character, but for strong pull from low revs. Peak torque arrives early and remains available across a broad rev range. The result is an engine that feels equally effortless in city traffic and on backroads.

Fuel consumption is 3.5 L/100 km according to Honda, with real-world community figures ranging from 3.5 to 4.5 L/100 km. With a 14.1-liter fuel tank, range is around 400 km—one of the best figures among middleweight adventure bikes.

An Assist and Slipper Clutch comes standard.

There are three riding modes: Rain, Standard, and Sport, plus a configurable User mode. HSTC traction control offers three levels. Rain mode has been recalibrated since MY2025.

DCT is optional. Since MY2025, low-speed behavior has been improved, with smoother clutch engagement below 10 km/h and optimized response during U-turns and walking-pace maneuvers.

The Unique Feature: 23 Liters of Storage Under the Tank Cover—No Other Motorcycle Offers It

On the NC750X, the fuel tank is located beneath the seat. What looks like the fuel tank is actually a 23-liter storage compartment. A full-face helmet fits inside.

This is not merely a comfort bonus. It is the concept that fundamentally separates the NC750X from every other motorcycle in its class. Kawasaki Versys 650, Yamaha MT-07, Suzuki V-Strom 650: none offers comparable integrated storage without accessories.

There is no need for a top case just to carry gloves, a helmet, or rain gear. The NC750X can be loaded for everyday use in seconds. That is one of the reasons this motorcycle has ranked among Europe’s best sellers for more than a decade.

Suspension: 41 mm SHOWA SBDV Fork, New Dual Front Discs, Lighter Aluminum Wheels Since 2025

Up front is a 41 mm SHOWA telescopic fork with SBDV technology, Separate Bending Valve, using separate valves for rebound and compression damping in separate fork tubes for improved control under changing suspension conditions.

At the rear is a monoshock with Pro-Link suspension.

Since MY2025, the NC750X has used dual front brake discs, each measuring 296 mm, with twin-piston calipers—a significant improvement over the previous single-disc setup. ABS comes standard.

New, lighter 17-inch aluminum wheels front and rear were also introduced for MY2025. The chassis uses a steel-tube diamond frame. Wheelbase is 1,511 mm and steering-head angle is 27 degrees.

Fully fueled weight is 216 kg for the DCT version and approximately 214 kg for the manual-transmission model.

On the road, the motorcycle feels considerably lighter than those numbers suggest. The low center of gravity created by the actual fuel tank’s position beneath the seat gives the NC750X exceptionally easy handling.

Tire sizes are 120/70-17 front and 160/60-17 rear.

Ergonomics: 802 mm Seat Height, 5-Inch TFT/RoadSync, Upright—Everyday Comfort Comes First

Seat height is 802 mm—moderate for an adventure bike and providing good ground contact for riders from approximately 1.70 meters tall.

The upright riding position and wide handlebar are equally comfortable for city traffic, commuting, and touring.

New for MY2025 was a 5-inch color TFT display with Honda RoadSync connectivity for turn-by-turn navigation, music, and phone functions, along with a backlit four-way switch on the left handlebar for intuitive operation even while wearing gloves.

The cockpit is one of the biggest comfort improvements introduced with the 2025 update. The previous generation’s LCD was one of the motorcycle’s weak points.

The windshield provides revised weather protection. The LED headlight has a new lighting signature.

Also introduced for 2025 were a new non-slip seat with reinforced stitching and Durabio bodywork components made from bio-based plastic.

2026 colors are Earth Khaki, Earth Black, Fighting Red, and Matte Pearl Glare White. Technically, the motorcycle is unchanged from MY2025 apart from the new colors.

Handling: Easygoing, Versatile, and Even More Distinctive With DCT—Commuting, Touring, Backroads

The NC750X is not an excitable motorcycle. It is a dependable, everyday all-rounder that never overwhelms the rider and rarely disappoints. City traffic, highways, winding backroads—it handles all three without putting unnecessary strain on the rider.

The optional DCT reinforces its relaxed character: no clutch lever, no foot shifter. It is relaxing in city traffic and comfortable on long-distance rides. In Sport mode with manual shift paddles, the DCT can also be ridden with genuine enthusiasm. The fundamental character does not change, but the level of control increases.

The NC750X is neither the sportiest nor the most powerful motorcycle in its class—but it has the most sensible everyday concept and the lowest fuel consumption.

Costs: €8,689 Manual / €9,709 DCT—a Fair Price for the Most Complete Everyday Package

The DCT premium is approximately €1,000 over the manual-transmission version and is recommended for riders who regularly use the motorcycle in city traffic.

For direct comparison, the Kawasaki Versys 650 costs €9,070 including destination charges, has 67 hp, and no integrated storage concept.

The Yamaha Tracer 7 costs €10,424, offers 73 hp and greater sporting performance, but again no integrated storage.

The NC750X sits in the middle of the competitive price range while offering the most comprehensive everyday package—primarily because of its 23-liter storage compartment.

The standard warranty is two years with unlimited mileage. A paid extension through Honda GarantiePlus is available. Service intervals are every 12,000 km. At 3.5 L/100 km, running costs are very low.

Verdict

The Honda NC750X is the motorcycle that serves more people more sensibly than any other bike in its class. It is not the fastest and not the most powerful—but it is the most practical, the most fuel-efficient, and the one with the unique 23-liter storage compartment no competitor has replicated.

The long-overdue 2025 update brought TFT/RoadSync, dual front brake discs, and improved DCT. The 2026 model year carries that package forward. If you are looking for a motorcycle for everyday use, buy the NC750X.
