Engine & DCT: 745 cc, 59 hp, 69 Nm—NC750-Based, but With Gravel Mode and Optimized Low-Speed Control

745 cc, liquid-cooled SOHC parallel twin, eight valves, 70 mm × 80 mm, 10.7:1 compression ratio, PGM-FI, Throttle-by-Wire, Euro 5+. Output is 43.1 kW / 59 hp at 6,750 rpm, with 69 Nm at 4,750 rpm. Two balance shafts reduce vibration. The engine shares its roots with the NC750X and Forza 750, but in the X-ADV it is tuned for a typical all-round character: a distinctive sound from the 270-degree crankpin offset, strong midrange pull, and smooth performance at higher rpm.

There are four riding modes: Standard, Sport, Rain, and Gravel. Gravel mode is the decisive difference compared with the Forza 750, with traction control calibrated for loose surfaces and adapted throttle response for gravel and dirt roads.

There is also an individually configurable User mode. Three-level HSTC traction control can be switched off. The six-speed DCT comes standard, with no additional charge, and can shift fully automatically or manually through handlebar-mounted paddles.

Since model year 2025, it has been revised for smoother starts and better control at low speeds and during U-turns. Cruise control has also been standard since 2025. An A2 version with 35 kW / 48 hp is available. Fuel consumption is 3.6 L/100 km. The 13.2-liter tank provides a range of approximately 366 km.

Suspension: 41 mm USD, 150 mm Travel Front and Rear, Radial Four-Piston Calipers, 17-Inch Front Wheel—That’s What Makes the Difference

Up front is a 41 mm SHOWA USD fork with 150 mm of travel. At the rear is a monoshock with Pro-Link suspension, an aluminum swingarm, and 150 mm of travel. The 150 mm available at both ends is what separates the X-ADV from a pure urban scooter. Gravel roads, dirt roads, and light off-road terrain are realistically possible. It is not, however, a serious enduro motorcycle.

Braking comes from dual 296 mm front discs with radially mounted four-piston calipers. At the rear is a 240 mm disc with a single-piston caliper. ABS comes standard. Wheel sizes are 17 inches front - the motorcycle standard - and 15 inches rear.

The wheelbase is a long 1,590 mm, while the 27-degree steering-head angle and 104 mm of trail are also configured for stability. Fully fueled weight is 237 kg and seat height is 820 mm.

Handling is stable in a straight line, yet more agile through corners than the weight would suggest. Through tight sequences of bends, the X-ADV changes direction with surprising ease. Maximum stationary noise is 87 dB(A), so Tyrol’s motorcycle riding bans do not apply.

Equipment: 22 Liters of Illuminated Storage, 5-Inch TFT/RoadSync, Cruise Control, Windshield—All Standard

There are 22 liters of illuminated storage beneath the seat, including a USB-C charging port, plus an additional storage compartment. A 5-inch color TFT with Honda RoadSync comes standard, providing navigation, music, and phone functions, operated through a backlit four-way rocker switch on the left handlebar.

Dual LED headlights with “Hidden Eye” technology for DRL daytime running lights and integrated turn signals have been standard since MY2025. The windshield is adjustable and can be operated with one hand, both while seated and at a standstill. Also since 2025, the seat has 10 percent more PU foam for additional comfort. Its slimmer shape around the rider’s legs makes it easier to reach the ground.

New for MY2026 is colored Durabio on the X-ADV for the first time, a bio-based plastic made from corn. New genuine accessories include a passenger backrest and an Akrapovič Slip-On muffler, both new for 2026. Five accessory packages are available: Adventure, Comfort, Style, Travel, and Urban

 An optional side-case set provides 26 liters on the right and 33 liters on the left, using Honda’s One-Key system. The X-ADV was developed at Honda’s European R&D center in Rome.

Tricolour Special Edition: Tribute to Africa Twin and Transalp—Exclusive to MY2026

The new Matte Pearl Glare White Special Edition for MY2026 is technically identical to the standard version but features an exclusive two-tone Tricolour paint scheme with blue and red graphic elements—an explicit tribute to the legendary Africa Twin and Transalp adventure bikes. The Special Edition is the first X-ADV model to use colored Durabio plastic as standard.

Handling: Scooter Comfort, Motorcycle Handling, Gravel Capability—Suitable for Everything, Perfect at Nothing

At 237 kg fully fueled, with 59 hp and an 820 mm seat height, the X-ADV is not a light motorcycle. What distinguishes it is its ability to convince across an unusually wide range of uses: relaxed in city traffic thanks to DCT, comfortable and stable on the highway at 130–140 km/h, agile on backroads, and capable on gravel and dirt roads thanks to 150 mm of suspension travel and Gravel mode—even if it is no substitute for a genuine enduro motorcycle.

The X-ADV is the motorcycle for riders who do not want to choose between practicality and riding enjoyment.

Direct comparison: the Yamaha TMAX 560 starts at €14,149, with no Gravel mode, less suspension travel, and 48 hp. The BMW F 750 GS belongs to a different class, offers greater off-road capability, but has no DCT and no integrated storage. In its own category, the X-ADV is effectively without competition—no other vehicle combines scooter storage, DCT, motorcycle-level suspension travel, and an off-road riding mode at this price level.

The price is €14,189 including destination charges for all three standard colors.

Its market success is clear: the X-ADV was Honda’s third-best-selling motorcycle in Europe in 2025. This is no longer a niche product.

In terms of price and equipment, the X-ADV is a good choice for riders who want more than pavement.

The standard warranty is two years with unlimited mileage. A paid extension through Honda GarantiePlus is available. Maximum stationary noise is 87 dB(A), so Tyrol’s motorcycle riding bans do not apply.

Verdict

The X-ADV has polarized opinion since its introduction—and still sells better than most Honda motorcycles.

The concept works: 59 hp, DCT, Gravel mode, 150 mm of suspension travel, 22 liters of storage, 17-inch front wheel—for €14,189.

MY2026 adds the Tricolour Special Edition and an Akrapovič accessory option.

Everything else remains unchanged.

That is a good thing.
